Airport guides: pick the right one, then get out of it fast
Picking the right airport can matter more than picking the right fare. A smaller airport close to your hotel can beat a bigger hub that's a long drive away, even when the ticket costs a little more. Myrtle Beach International, for example, is a short ride from the oceanfront, while flying into a larger airport elsewhere means hours on the road before the vacation starts.
Our airport guides cover the questions you'll have on the day: which terminal, how long security usually takes, where rideshare pickups are, whether the rental car counter is in the terminal or a shuttle ride away, and what to do when a connection is tight.
We also cover airport transfers, because the ride out of the airport is part of the trip. Our first transportation guide walks through the Myrtle Beach airport options in detail. Dedicated airport guides are in progress, and the reading list below follows airline and airport news in the meantime.
